Host a "Super" Super Bowl Party

It’s that time of year again and this year is a little extra special. Celebrate the final game of the NFL’s 100th season with family and friends among nachos, wings, and some pretty funny commercials. If you’re the host for this year’s big game, don't panic! I’ve got 5 tips to help your party be the best one ever.

Select Your Game Day Crew

One of the key factors to hosting any successful party is planning in advance. If you wait until the last minute to make your plans, the party will suffer. A few weeks before the big game decide who to invite. The guest list is one of the first things to hammer down. The head count allows you to began planning food and other things.

The invitations can be as formal or informal as you like. It’s important to do this step far enough in advance. If you wait until a week before the game to invite people, they may have already made plans with someone else. Make sure your guests get your party on their calendar with plenty of time to spare.

Plan Your Menu ( A week before the game)

If you’re choosing to do takeout, decide what and how much to buy. If you’re going with wings, what sauces and flavors will your guests want? What about ordering pizza? Think about what kind of toppings will have universal appeal for your guest. Will they want sides? Appetizers? These are all things to consider. Don't hesitate to ask guest what they like.

If you plan on doing the cooking, or even some of the cooking, it’s time to start thinking about recipes. I recommend digging out all your favorites for such an important occasion, but it’s also worth it to scour the internet for new ideas. You might also ask your friends if they have any recipes they’d recommend.

When it comes to drinks, it’s best to have options. If you and your guests want to have some alcoholic drinks, make sure to ask around to get a feel for what everybody wants. This way, you won’t end up with all the leftovers that no one wanted to drink. Make sure to provide plenty of non-alcoholic drinks. I recommend bottled water, punch, ice tea, lemonade, and a few different kinds of soda. Don't forget to buy plenty of ice to use in or keep drinks cold.

Décor

Decorations are optional but we all know that the most fun and successful parties are the ones have an atmosphere created by decorations. Head over to your local party store and grab some football-shaped confetti, cut-outs, balloons, and banners to spice up the party space.

Activities

We know not everyone is going to be paying attention to the game. To keep the party lively, be sure to have some activities lined up for the night. There are plenty of ideas for free Super bowl games out there or invent your own.

Game Access For Everyone

You’ll want your guests to see all the game and commercials have to offer. Plan out your setting in advance and be sure to have plenty of chairs and cushions on hand so that everyone has a great view of the game to cheer and relax.

Don't forget to have fun! You have prepared for this day. Now, it’s time to sit back, eat some good food, and enjoy an exciting game with your family and friends.
